16 – Garbage In – Garbage Out

Why are we spending so much time on responsibility and reframing? Why do I repeat myself so much?

When I repeat information, it has you interact with that thought, one more time.  When I say it in a slightly different way, you get a fuller and broader understanding of that principle.  This causes you to have more memory patterns about the information stored in your brain.  As I write this blog, you are seeing how I think.  I can write endlessly about success principles and axioms.  I can expand on them and give countless examples.

The seeds of these ideas are stored in my mind due to many years of study, application, review and reapplication and, because I know the fundamental principles so well, it is very easy for me to remember to use them.  Because I have remembered to use them consistently, I have been able to frequently apply them which has given me access to incredible and unprecedented success, peace of mind and fulfillment.

Remembering the information is important because if you don’t remember it, you certainly won’t use it.  If you can’t explain the information in this blog yourself, do you really know it?  I know it because I have spent years reading, thinking about these ideas, conversing with others, having insights about them, applying them and gaining insight and experience.  If you want to know this information and get real benefits, you must do the same.  It doesn’t matter if you have read this blog once.  What matters is how much of this information you make a working part of your own thought processes and how much of it you actually apply.

When I repeat myself, you are more likely to remember it.  If you remember it, you are more likely to use it.  If you use it, you are more likely to keep using it, and your confidence will increase.  If you keep using this information, your life will change for the better.  I’ve seen it happen over and over again.  Do not underestimate the power of exposing yourself to this information repeatedly.  It will have an impact on you.  This information is powerful but only if you learn it well enough, and actually use it.

The other thing to consider is the amount of time you are investing into thinking about these principles and axioms. For instance, if you take reframing as an example, most people are not even attempting to deliberately change their thoughts because they do not understand that it is their thoughts that shape their reality.  But even if they do understand the importance of reframing, they do not remember to reframe in their day-to-day life.  If you spend more time reading about a principle or axiom, you are focusing on it long enough that it can gain some momentum in your thought processes.

Then, when you take a break from this blog, you are more likely to use what you learned from it because you want to get a return on your investment of time.  This is a great thing.  How much of your time do you spend taking in information that is not helpful or even detrimental to you?  If you spend most of your time putting garbage into your mind, it will produce garbage results.  If you want to combat the great myriad of negative influences in your life, wouldn’t it make sense to keep exposing yourself to positive influences long enough for them to take hold in your mind?  You must put correct knowledge in regularly and do what you can to limit the incorrect knowledge and information.

Information is food for your mind.  If you eat only junk food, you are fuelling your body with garbage and you will surely notice the effects on your body over time.  Fuelling your body with good food is important.  Fuelling your mind with good information is important too.  If you put garbage into your mind, you will get a matching result.  Garbage in – garbage out.

This post may be short but do not underestimate it.  If you really understand what has been said here, you would be doing it.  You would be applying it in your life.  Take an inventory of the way you use your time.  How much of your time are you using to train yourself to become the person you want to be?  How frequently are you focusing on principles and axioms?  How much of your time is spent productively and how much is spent unproductively?

If you’re not ready to change anything yet, it’s ok.  You can admit this to yourself now and begin to confront it.  Eventually, you may be ready to make some changes that will bring you closer to what you desire.  however, the thing to understand is that nothing will change, until you do.  If you want things to improve in your life, you must spend time causing that improvement.  If you aren’t willing to do this right now, it is totally fine.  You just don’t get to be upset if and when nothing changes for you.
