The Prehistory of FUN – The Mastermind
A group of dedicated individuals, united by a shared set of core values, came together at the suggestion of Alex Kadet, the first CEO of the Family Unicity Network. This group formed a Mastermind that eventually became the foundation of the Family Unicity Network. This is the story of how that Mastermind was born and what unfolded next.
Alex had been providing guidance and mentorship to numerous clients and friends for years, leveraging the knowledge and experience he gained from his own mentors to achieve exceptional results for himself. However, he knew that personal growth and success were not enough. He felt a deep responsibility to help others elevate their lives and achieve their goals as well. He realized that he needed to create something more significant to make a difference on a larger scale. And so, In June of 2018, Alex had an intuitive yet profound idea about what needed to be created next.
After several years of working one-on-one with individuals, Alex realized that it was time to bring together a select group of his most teachable, loyal, and trusted clients turned friends to meet in person. Not everyone was invited to this special meeting, but those who were invited shared a significant background of trust with Alex.
Alex’s message to each of them was simple yet intriguing: there were some success principles and axioms that could only be learned in a group setting, and he felt it was essential for this group to meet to take their personal development to the next level. Given their existing relationship with Alex, it didn’t take much effort to gain their agreement for this idea.
The idea was enough to bring everyone together on a Friday afternoon on June 8th, 2018 where they met each other and immediately discovered a common vision that would bind them together. The meeting sparked instant recognition, enthusiasm, love, and respect for each other. It felt like a fated meeting to everyone in attendance. Following the meeting, a regular meeting schedule was established to continue their work together.
At the second meeting on June 22, 2018, the group focused on exploring the potential benefits that they could derive from their association.
The group came up with the following list of purposes:
- Elevate each member of the group.
- Identify and release unconscious emotional barriers and blockages.
- Deepen our connection with Source/God (spiritual awareness).
- Access the collective wisdom of the group mind.
- Tap into individual strengths and overcome weaknesses.
- Accelerate our learning through shared experiences.
- Develop stronger leadership skills.
- Apply teamwork to achieve individual goals and dreams.
- Master the art of communication.
- Achieve tangible, real-life results.
The Mastermind was born from a powerful conversation where each member made a solemn promise to elevate one another. This commitment was sealed by a declaration of their word, creating a deep sense of trust and accountability within the group. Furthermore, the members recognized the potential for their collaboration to impact the world beyond their group, although the details were unclear at the time. It wasn’t until the start of the global pandemic, two years later, that the Mastermind’s potential to make a significant difference in the world would begin to reveal itself.
The group also established a framework for individual participation. They agreed that each member must attend every meeting as an active leader, fully prepared to contribute and create value for the group, rather than just attending to serve their personal interests. If a member failed to show up ready to lead, they were lovingly but firmly challenged to step up and generate themselves as a leader.
Whenever a member showed up to a meeting with a misaligned energy or attitude, the rest of the group could sense it immediately. Although the member might not be aware of their energy being “off” at first, the group never ignored these feelings. It was understood that a true spirit of harmony was essential for the mastermind to move forward. No member would be left behind, as the group recognized that any individual who was not in harmony with the group’s intentions or themselves could disrupt the mastermind’s intention. Whenever this happened, the group would challenge and support the member until they learned a deep lesson and the group’s energy was made whole again.
As challenging as these moments were at times, particularly for the one being challenged on any particular day, the members of the mastermind were grateful for the opportunity to be challenged because it helped them get back on track with themselves. Even though it could be uncomfortable in the moment, the group was supportive of each other and wouldn’t give up on anyone. There was no sugar-coating or beating around the bush, as the members knew that honesty was necessary for growth. The group had profound trust in each other’s intentions and knew that discipline was given with compassion and love. This trust allowed for each member to deepen their authenticity, knowing that the group had their best interests at heart.
Without exception, every meeting of the Mastermind brought forth a wellspring of inspiration and elevation for all members. An abundance of creative ideas and valuable insights flowed freely, occurring more frequently and consistently than ever before. Each member’s life experienced rapid elevations, and it was clear that these new breakthroughs were directly attributable to the Mastermind process. In the years that followed, the Mastermind became a source of immeasurable and unexpected value in each person’s life. The sense of gratitude and appreciation was unanimous among the members, who felt keenly that they were participating in something unique and profoundly powerful.
The group had become a family, working together as one. They shared special occasions like holidays and birthdays, laughed together often and leaned on each other in trying times. Though the journey wasn’t always rosy, their commitment to each other remained steadfast and unshakeable, no matter what obstacles arose. Each meeting was a catalyst to expansion greater than the last, with the group becoming so attuned to each other that if one person needed to hear something to propel themselves to the next level in their life, the others needed to hear it too. The Mastermind became a profound source of power, and because of this, each member began to radiate this energy outside of the group with many of their friends and family.
The Mastermind was more than just a group of friends; they were a collective of individuals who were committed to continuously training and developing themselves to become the best version of themselves, to love fully, and to live in harmony with their deepest purposes and desires. As they worked together, their confidence grew exponentially, fueled by the enthusiasm they had for all they were becoming aware of and all that was yet to come.
2020 – The Global Pandemic that Sparked of an Expansion of the Mastermind
Soon after the global pandemic began to unfold in March of 2020, the Mastermind engaged in discussions about the situation. They had long been aware of a looming global financial event, and it was becoming clear that the initial “2 weeks to flatten the curve” narrative was just the beginning of a long and uncertain journey that would have a lasting impact on the entire world. However, amidst the chaos, the Mastermind saw an opportunity to expand their impact beyond their group. A new idea emerged, rooted in their collective intuition: it was time to extend the value of the Mastermind out into the world.
Due to the mandated “stay home” restrictions, the Mastermind made a conscious decision to transition their meetings online and increase their frequency. The group recognized the importance of this time and knew that significant work needed to be done. Through brainstorming and visualization exercises, the Mastermind worked together to determine the best approach for extending the benefits they were receiving from their Mastermind to a larger group.
As part of their efforts, the Mastermind began to examine what had been making such a difference in their lives. Through deep conversations and reflection, the group distilled the essence of their success into two key commitments:
- A commitment to lifelong friendships akin to a marriage
- A commitment to regular and active training and development as a foundation for one’s life
The Mastermind’s success was attributed to the perfect synthesis of these two commitments, and the group aimed to replicate this formula by creating a private membership club. They believed that this club could operate in a similar way to the existing Mastermind and bring the same level of success and fulfillment to its members.
The Mastermind recognized that while many people have a group of friends, these friendships usually lack the fundamental context of training and development that is required to help each individual reach their full potential. On the other side of the coin, they were also aware that many people who read books and attend seminars on success usually do not have an adequate support network of friends and family doing this kind of training in partnership with them.
The Mastermind’s commitment to both developing lifelong friendships AND personal growth and development was the key to their success. They recognized the immense value of this approach and saw the potential to extend its benefits to others.
It was also known to the Mastermind that wealthy families, royal families, and members of various secret societies have always had established support structures and similar commitments among their members, which is a significant factor contributing to their success. With this knowledge in mind, the Mastermind began formulating a Reason for Existence, Mission, and Vision for their project.
Reason for Existence:
To create a sustainable, empowered social community of like-minded friends and family who are achieving their own goals and dreams while supporting each other.
Mission:
To empower the members to elevate to new heights through the power of community and the practice of proven axioms.
Vision:
An expanding harmony of like-minded friends and family that pulls for the empowerment of each individual, perpetuated over generations.
The process of naming the organization was a collaborative and intentional one. After several hours of brainstorming, the group narrowed down their options to two words that resonated with their mission: “Family” and “Network,” but one word was still missing. An idea came to the group that the acronym of the organization could be FUN if only the perfect word beginning with “u” could be found. Eventually, they came across the word “unicity,” which means “together as one,” and it immediately struck a chord with the group. The Family Unicity Network was born – a name that captured the essence of their commitment to lifelong friendship and personal growth.
An organizational structure was crucial to ensure the smooth operation of all aspects of the organization. The Mastermind became the Council of the Family Unicity Network, and each Council member was elected to various roles within the organizational structure, including CEO, CFO, COO, Communications, Legal, Treasury, Registration, Training & Development, Quality, Product Development, and Public Relations.
A corporate structure was necessary for the Family Unicity Network as members would be required to pay membership fees. From a business perspective, these fees would be used for operating costs and primarily to give benefits back to the members. However, the council’s driving motivation for creating the organization was not financial gain. Therefore, they did not expect to be paid for their efforts, at least until the organization had reached a critical mass in membership. The primary motivation was to create life-changing benefits for everyone involved. The council was willing to do this because they knew firsthand how valuable the Mastermind was in their lives, and the possibility of having more people in their network was an enormously appealing prospect in itself.
The intention was not to get as many members as possible; rather, it was to find the right members and empower them well. The council knew that these people would become great friends, and that everyone would benefit from associating with the right people who had the right attitude and commitment to the collective vision.
The organization needed to be established properly. As this was being taken care of, the council worked on creating an introductory meeting to invite carefully selected friends and family members to join the club. The Mastermind, now operating as the Council, also began to structure their core principles and axioms into training materials designed to empower the prospective members.
The council members carefully selected individuals they believed would be a good match for the club and invited them to an online overview meeting. During this meeting, the council shared the story of their mastermind and introduced some core principles that would inspire potential members to want to join the group.
Rather than being invited to join the group outright, potential members were asked to submit a request to go through a qualification process designed to determine whether they would be a good fit for the club. This process was crucial because it helped establish the idea that membership was a privilege and not something that one was entitled to. By maintaining high standards for membership, the group ensured that its core values and principles would be upheld, and that all members would be fully committed to the collective vision.
Just like with the mastermind, maintaining harmony among all members was vitally important and even necessary to produce similar benefits. The council members understood that the success of the organization depended on having the right people on board, and they were willing to take the time and effort to carefully select those individuals who shared their values and vision. Through this rigorous selection process, the Family Unicity Network ensured that it would be made up of a tight-knit community of like-minded individuals who were dedicated to personal growth, development, and lifelong friendship.
As part of the qualification process, each potential member had to participate in one-on-one interviews with the Council, who had the final say on whether to grant membership. Once the membership had been decided, two distinct groups were formed: one comprised of the council members’ close friends and family, and the other of musicians with whom Alex had already been working for a few months.
On December 15th, 2020, the official inaugural meeting took place, marking the beginning of Family Unicity Network.
