3 – Building Your Foundation

Your foundation determines how high you can build.  Without a strong foundation, your ability to create success, however you define it, will be extremely limited.

In order to create success, we must have a strong foundation for success. Some people will want to skip over this conversation thinking, “I just want to get to the real stuff.” Well… this is the real stuff, and no matter how many times I tell you this, you will not understand until you have actually done it and proven to yourself the veracity of these fundamental basic principles.

It will take a certain willingness to really consider the information I’m sharing with you right now because until you know, you don’t know. You think you know, but you don’t.  I’m not saying this out of arrogance or to put you down.  This is simply a matter of fact.

A mentor of mine told me once that there is a domain of knowledge that is learnable but not teachable. Stop for a moment and think about what I just said.  This is such a profound truth.  I can show you where to look but you have to go find it.  You have to have your own experience to validate this information.  Once you’ve done this, you will be able to come back to this conversation and it will sound like music to your ears.

Think about it.  Is there anything you have accomplished in your life that required building a foundation first?  How about speaking a language?  How hard would it be to comprehend this sentence if you hadn’t learned your alphabet first? Imagine trying to read a book written in Chinese but you do not know how to read or speak Chinese. How much would you get out of that book?  Knowing Chinese is a necessary foundation for reading a Chinese book.  A house without a foundation will not stand for long. Likewise, you cannot unlock your true power and potential until you accept these simple truths: You must always be building your foundation. You must fix the cracks in your understanding. You and only you can build a foundation that will allow you to create the life you truly desire.

My mentors taught this to me and I’m passing it along to you. The ability to create and manifest the life of your dreams is 100% learnable.  Anyone who can get their foundations right will have the opportunity to create great success, wealth, joy, freedom, security and much more. However, the choice is yours to make. No one else can do it for you.

The issue for most people is that their foundations are missing or damaged, meaning there is important knowledge that is absent, or that they have incorrect knowledge, and so they continue attempting to find what they are looking for, but fall short again and again. How do I know this?  Because this was me.

I’ve seen thousands of well-meaning people who wanted more in their lives fall short of their dreams because their foundation was weak.  I have also seen many people who applied the information I will be sharing in this blog and it worked for them.  This information always works when applied correctly.  It works every time without exception.

I personally know that this information works for everyone who applies it, and so I know it can work for you too.  You don’t have to take my word for it and I know it may seem like a leap of faith for you, and that’s because it is.  There are so many people out there teaching incorrect theories about how to create, that you may be a little bit skeptical. That’s ok. Just acknowledge that this is where you are, and then make a choice.  Are you going to give this a shot? Do you trust the person who shared this with you?  Do you trust yourself to figure out if this is true or not?

So now let’s get clear about something very important that can make all the difference in your life if you are willing and able to hear it. There is a knowable foundation for creating success, happiness, fulfillment and anything your heart desires.  If you don’t have this foundation, you will not be able to create the life you’ve always wished for.

What is this foundation made of?

Principles and Axioms.

This is what this blog is all about.

Having a foundation of true principles and axioms by which you live and create your life is what will determine how successfully and deliberately you will be able to create what you desire. The regular integration of principles and axioms is the key to unlocking your power and potential.

So what are principles and axioms?

An axiom is a universal or self-evident truth. It already exists naturally in the universe. It has always existed, exists now and always will exist and it can never be destroyed.  If any of these criteria are not present, then it is not an axiom but rather a false perspective or temporary opinion about what is true.  The inability to create in harmony with life comes from a lack of understanding of these axioms.

If you don’t believe in the law of gravity and so you jump from a tall building, you will still fall regardless of your lack of belief in gravity.  However, if you live your life with a full knowledge and understanding of gravity, you can better prevent yourself from falling off of buildings. This example should illustrate the importance of axioms.  You must know what is true about how the universe naturally works if you want to avoid creating unnecessary suffering and misery in your life. You must learn what is true so that you may align your thoughts, words and actions with these axioms. Only then will you be able to harmonize with these axioms to access your full potential and creative power.

The word “principle” comes from the latin noun “principia” meaning first, foremost, leading, chief, most necessary, most important. Axioms are always principles in that they come first and are most important, but principles are not always axioms. If your principles are rooted in incorrect knowledge and information, then you will fail to create the desired outcomes in your life.  True principles are axioms and axioms are true principles.  You can consciously choose to live by true principles and harmonize yourself with the natural laws that govern this universe.  You can then use these principles again and again to create success in your life, whatever that may be for you. This is how you develop the “Midas touch” where everything you touch turns to gold.

What I’m sharing with you right now is not new information.  There is no new information really.  As the old adage goes, there is nothing new under the sun.  All axioms and principles already exist naturally in the universe.  The key to unlocking your power and potential in life comes from your awareness of these naturally occurring axioms and principles that govern the universe and all of life, as well as your ability to harmonize yourself with them correctly.

What I’m saying right now is so important.  It is pure gold.  If you don’t agree with me or if you are not excited about this, then you just don’t know yet.  You do not yet understand the significance of this conversation, and again, that’s ok.  Just know that at some point if you stay in this conversation and you keep generating the care, hope and desire to unlock your true potential, you will get it eventually.  When you do, you will reread this information and you will be in awe of it.  You will be excited to learn more and have new insights about what you are reading.  You will be thrilled to know that you have the power inside of you to create an incredible life by focusing on what really matters – building your foundation of principles and axioms, and mastering them through real-life application over time.

When you really understand the power of principles and axioms, you realize that you must always be in the process of building a stronger foundation for whatever you will create next.  You are never done building your foundation.  Each new level is the foundation for your next creation.  Most people don’t want to do this work.  Most people are too impatient.  They want to get to the good stuff.  They want to hear something they haven’t heard before.  They think there is some mysterious secret that they just haven’t heard yet and that once they hear it, suddenly their life will start working out better. In one sense this is true, however, the misconception is that you need new information.

The reality is that these secrets you are seeking can only be found by better understanding the foundational principles and axioms. By having more insights about this material, you will have more awareness as you go through life, allowing you to make better choices and decisions that will ultimately create better results in your life. This does not mean you will not experience obstacles or opposing forces.  It just means that you will have the tools to deal with them and overcome them effectively. The more you can align your thoughts, feelings and actions to be in harmony with true principles and axioms, the more access you will have to being the creator of your own destiny.

4 – Non-Linear Learning

Embedded in every post is something profound. The process has already begun. You are already in it.  How exciting!

Remember, you must think about what you are reading and generate insights. Don’t forget!

You may have noticed how much time we are spending on the process of learning.  Anyone who understands the human condition knows how important this is. There are so many barriers people have to learning, and so we must always focus on teachability.  It is the only way you will have a shot at absorbing the information you need to create the life you desire.  The ability to unlearn is just as important as being able to learn because from time to time we become filled up with information and so there is no room for more.

You should absolutely love this conversation. You can create great things in your life just with the information you have already been given but you may not realize it yet.  You should be excited about this information because this is the good stuff. You may be starting to feel full or impatient or overwhelmed.  If this is the case, just acknowledge it and take a breath. You must learn to empty your mental cup so that you can pour more knowledge into it. You must learn to trust a process.  This process works and you can do it if you are willing to generate yourself as teachable and apply your insights right now.

Next, we ought to have a conversation about the way in which the learning of principles and axioms will occur for you.  I already told you that your path to true success is all about building and strengthening your foundation of principles and axioms but let’s consider what that actually looks like in your life.

Linear vs. Non-Linear Learning

Most people are used to a process called linear learning. Linear learning is important. If we want to be able to read a novel, we must first learn the letters of the alphabet. Once we have mastered this, we can move on to learning individual words and then learn to read and construct sentences. We don’t need to go back and keep focusing on learning our letters because that learning is complete.  You are not going to forget what the letter B is, so you simply move on to learning the next thing in the linear sequence. As I said, this kind of learning is important. However, creating the life that you truly desire and becoming the master of your own destiny requires a different relationship to learning. An understanding and application of non-linear learning is necessary.

Let me give you a simple way to think about it. See if you can abstract the true meaning of the example I am about to give you.

Imagine you are reading a book about how to create success in your life.  Any one chapter, let’s say chapter 2, may cause you to have some new thoughts and insights that are important to you right now in your life.  As you continue to read, moving on to chapter 3, 4 and 5 you will continue to have new thoughts and insights. In linear learning, the material in chapter 5 is a logical conclusion to the first four chapters. However, in non-linear learning, once you have read the material in chapter 5 and have had new thoughts and ideas, you may now return to chapter 2 the very next day to have brand new insights and realizations. The new ideas that you came to in chapter 5 can unlock new ideas about the information in chapter 2 that you did not grasp the first time you read it. Then, once you have re-read chapter 2, the new ideas and insights you gain from reading chapter 2 again will unlock new insights in chapter 5 or chapter 7 or chapter 8 and so on. When you understand this phenomenon, you come to an understanding that you are never done with the information. Instead, you are deepening your understanding of the information and how all the principles and axioms relate to each other, and your own life experiences.

In addition to this, whenever you reread any part of a book in a new unit of time, you will be a different person. You will have a different perspective. You will be in a different head space. You will be in a different mood and you will have had different experiences in your life to which you will be able to relate the information. If you read the book again in one year, it will certainly occur to you as an entirely new book.  Because you have changed, your experience of the exact same text will have changed.  Its meaning will have evolved for you.

When thinking about the book in a linear way, you may think that since you have read half the book that you now know half of the information. However, from a non-linear viewpoint, a person who has read the entire book 15 times may only have understood one one-thousandth of the information in the book while someone else who has only read one sentence of the book may have gained more insight in a single reading. This is not an exaggeration.  The readiness and willingness of the student is crucial in non-linear learning, which is why I have emphasized the importance of actively reading and participating in the process of reading in the previous posts.

There is an enormous difference between reading a book to get it done and studying a book to master, absorb, and integrate its knowledge into your being. The return you get on reading and studying an axiom-rich book (or blog in this case) over and over again is infinite. Finishing the book is not the end goal. The end goal is to know the information inside and out, back and forth and side to side. The goal is to master the information. It has been said that mastery is the difference between doing something because you know it and being something because you are it. Mastery is when you go beyond using the information to the point where the information uses you, because you have fully integrated the information into you such that it is a part of you. If at first you don’t like learning this way, do it anyway and eventually you will find the joy in it as you see the difference it makes in your life and the way it elevates your experience of yourself.

If a very successful person writes a book, assuming they actually wrote the book and not a ghost-writer, it is likely that they will have deliberately chosen every word of every sentence to accurately convey their intended meaning.  They will have spent a lifetime absorbing information they have learned from their own mentors, books they have read, and events they have attended. If they have used this information to create success in their lives, they will have developed a system of thoughts and ideas that caused or enabled them to create that success in their lives.  Their goal in writing a book will likely be to take this elaborate system of thought patterns in their own mind and put them into a book for you to absorb.  Reading the book of someone whose success you would like to emulate is a powerful process.  Until you can regurgitate the entire book word for word (which will never happen) you always stand to get new insights from that book… so keep reading.
