9 – Spaced Repetition & a Word of Caution

For some, it may seem like I am repeating myself a lot, but I promise you this is no accident.  The repetition is very intentional in all my writing.  Coming back to the same information again and again helps you to remember it and more importantly causes you to have new insights and realizations about the information. Until you have really experienced what I am talking about, you may just have to take my word for it and give it a try.

Spaced repetition over time with some consistency gives your brain time to embed the information in your long-term memory, and allows you time to reflect and rest in between exposures to the information you are studying. It also allows you to continually go deeper into the information instead of having a superficial understanding of the information.

Just because you have heard something once does not mean that you know and understand it well. By integrating this information well, you are building a foundation for the next level of understanding of the same information.  I repeat myself a lot within these blog posts, but you can also re-read as many times as you’d like, leaving breaks in between to keep opening up your understanding.

At this point, it would be prudent of me to give you a warning so that you know what to expect as you go through this material. The more you expose yourself to this kind of knowledge and information, the more you may begin to notice where this knowledge is lacking in your life, and where you have some work to do.  It may drive up things you have not been wanting to confront or deal with because of old shame, guilt, hurt, anger or fear.  Ultimately, this is a very good thing because you want to drive these unconscious energies up so you can see them, confront them and transcend them. However, it may not seem like it is a good thing in the moment it is happening.

As you continue to expand what you see as possible for yourself in your life, you may find circumstances and situations arising in your life that appear to be negative.  They are not negative though.  They are gifts.  They are opportunities to apply what you are learning and rise above them into new circumstances and situations.  They are opportunities to become a better version of yourself.  They are moments of self-definition.

It is easier to ignore the inauthentic aspects of yourself and your life and continue to pretend they are not there if you only read these posts once.  However, reading these posts over and over again will make ignorance much more difficult (although not impossible).  Something will begin to happen to you in your real life if you keep exposing yourself to this information again and again. However, it is not this information that will cause the problem for you.  All true information has a way of revealing something that was already there inside of you, that you have been hiding from yourself.  A light will shine into a dark room exposing what is really there.  True principles and axioms work in much the same way.  They shine a light on your falsehoods.

What should you do when this happens?

The best thing you can do is to remind yourself that you are the one who put this challenge or obstacle there for yourself so you could overcome it.  Remember that the challenge or obstacle you are experiencing is actually a great opportunity.  Doing this will enable you to claim that opportunity.

And how is it that you are the one who causes these challenges to arise in your life? The moment you imagine an improved future, you activate an awareness of new possibilities within you. Doing this causes you to become much more aware of how much your current thoughts, feelings, circumstances and situations are not a match to these possibilities. Because your desire has increased, you will now feel worse whenever your desire is thwarted.

Again, this is a great thing!  Perhaps you have been too comfortable with your current unwanted circumstances and so you don’t even experience any negative emotions about them at all. But, if you spend time imagining a much better life, you will start to feel uncomfortable with the life you are currently experiencing. The life you are currently living will no longer be sufficient for you because your dreams have expanded.

When you allow yourself to dream bigger dreams, something changes in you. Even before anything has changed in your life circumstances, YOU have changed as a person, and so now you have become someone who is unwilling to settle for your current circumstances. This is good because you want to experience enough negative emotion that it will motivate you to make some important changes in your life.

The secret is to remember that when you are experiencing something you think is negative, it is not really negative at all.  You wanted to drive this up in yourself so you could learn to deal with it powerfully and effectively.  Remembering that you caused this in your life is an access to improved circumstances.

It is important for you to know that these obstacles are supposed to happen so that, when it does, you can know that nothing is wrong.  You can remember that these challenges and obstacles are supposed to happen, instead of believing that something is wrong or that the obstacles “shouldn’t be.”

This is why I’m sharing this with you now.  Don’t be surprised when these challenges and obstacles arise!  I told you it would happen.  They are part of the process. Focus on how you can get the best out of the seemingly negative circumstance.  Learn how to stay true to what you are creating even when you are faced with seeming opposition.  As one of my mentors always says, never waste a good catastrophe!

Napoleon Hill, writer of Think and Grow Rich and The Law of Success in 16 Lessons always said that in every failure are the seeds of greater opportunity. All successful people have learned this lesson in the process of becoming successful. You may also want to notice that Hill says that in every failure are the “seeds” of greater opportunity. You still have to find that seed, water it and fertilize it but the good news is that it is there and you can turn a negative into a positive if you are willing.

If you take on this point of view, you will begin to understand that you don’t need to survive negative circumstances.  The negative circumstances are your teachers.  They are there to help you create what you desire faster.  They are part of the process of creation.  You must simply acknowledge that this is the case and be willing to find that seed of opportunity and turn it into something great!

10 – Objective Truth vs. Subjective Truth

This next post is going to challenge some of you because I’m going to talk about the idea of objective Truth.

Most people have a very difficult time with the idea of objective “Truth.”  Part of the reason for this is that almost every human being on Earth is living in a state of being disconnected from the Truth to varying degrees. To a person living lies, inauthenticities and falsehoods, the Truth appears blasphemous and threatening to their sense of identity, and so they will resist or avoid this conversation.

Here, we are going to speak of Truth as a polarity where falsehood is its opposite.  Just as one may more readily accept and understand the value of becoming more loving (where Love is a polarity and fear is its opposite) we will relate to Truth in much the same way.  The goal is to be living in a Truer way and always striving to know better what is Truer.

The conclusion I wish for you to come to is simple and I will tell you what it is upfront as clearly as I can.

The conclusion I would like you to come to is merely  the acceptance that there is such a thing as objective Truth and that you can continue to deepen your awareness and connection with this Truth for yourself.  Even when you discover Truer Truths, you can continue to clear out more and more subtle falsehoods, thus gaining more and more wisdom.

This is all I am suggesting here.  I’m not here to tell you what “my” truth is so that you can decide what “your” truth is. The idea that I have “my” own truth and you have “your” own truth is nonsensical and imprecise languaging.  The word truth should not be used this way anymore because it keeps people from knowing the actual Truth.  I have my subjective perspective and you have your subjective perspective but the Truth itself, in the way I mean it, is objective.  Knowing the difference between subjective perspective and objective Truth is an important aspect of wisdom.  You can change your perspective.  You can’t change the Truth.  It is true that you have a perspective but it doesn’t mean that your perspective is always the Truth.

I’m not going to try to convince you about what that Truth is.  I don’t need or want you to agree with me to validate my opinions.  I’m simply sharing some ideas with you.  You can either accept them or reject them after using your own discernment.  Take what you agree with and leave what you don’t.

Truth cannot really be taught because it must be discovered through one’s own experience.  These words are meant to point you in a direction for your own consideration and self-discovery.  I am simply pointing at the notion of Truth itself, so you can seek to discover it yourself.  Again, there is a realm of knowledge that is learnable but not teachable.  As Morpheus tells Neo in the movie The Matrix, “I’m trying to free your mind Neo but I can only show you the door.  You’re the one who has to walk through it.”

All conflict, both internal and external, begins with a disconnect from the Truth. This disconnect occurs mostly unconsciously for people.  Most people are filled with misconceptions about the Truth.  It is likely that you are in one of two misunderstandings. Either, you believe that there is no objective Truth at all and so you are not even seeking to know it, or you do believe there is an objective Truth, but what you believe to be True is incorrect or only partially true. Either one will cause issues for you because they are both departures from the Truth.

If you find this conversation irritating or you are inclined to argue with it because you firmly believe there is no objective Truth, I will say this: You don’t have to worry about being challenged by anything I am saying here. If what you currently believe is actually True, then you have nothing to worry about.  I cannot prove something false about what you believe if what you believe is, in fact, True.  The Truth, as I am defining it, cannot be proven false because if it were proven false, then it was never True to begin with.

However, if you have been holding on to false ideas, this conversation may be challenging for you.  I suggest welcoming information that challenges your current views.  If at the end of this conversation you still don’t agree, you can have all of your opinions back and continue to believe what you believe. But isn’t it valuable to consider a different point of view sometimes? Why would you want to hold onto false beliefs anyway? They are not serving you.  Wouldn’t it be more productive to confront them and align yourself with Truer Truths if you find that your current beliefs are false?

Some of you may get off the ride at this point and stop reading this blog because you are too invested in your false ideas and notions about yourself and reality, and you are unwilling to generate the compassion for yourself and the courage required to face reality.  If that is the case, I wish you luck in your journey and I hope that you eventually do find the Truth after seeing how your current beliefs play out for you.

I am not saying this with any sarcasm.  I sincerely mean this and I wish you the best.  Arrogance about my point of view would not be beneficial for anyone, including myself.  I know you can do it and I trust you to find your way to the most empowering life you can create, regardless of whether you are ready to hear this information now, or not. Feel free to walk away from this blog at any time.  I wish you great happiness and fulfillment in all that you do, whether you agree with me or not.

That being said, I’m not holding back here because there are people who are ready for this information.  This knowledge has given me great power and inner peace and I wish to share it.  There are people who have been searching for this information their whole lives, even if they do not know they have been searching for it.  Others who are “almost ready” will read this now, but the seeds that are being planted in their minds via this blog will not grow and produce fruit for many years.  This is perfectly part of the process as well.

Even if you don’t agree with this information and you are getting annoyed by what I am saying, you are certainly welcome to keep reading.  It will be beneficial for you eventually.  I have no problem upsetting people with the Truth because I know for a fact that Truth always expands life.  This is its nature.  Resisting the Truth doesn’t stop life, it just slows it down a little.  The Truth will always be revealed eventually, even if not in your lifetime. The choice is yours to resist what is True or to accept it.

Now, let’s go back to the common misconception that each person’s subjective perspective is reality.  Some people believe there is no objective Truth at all and that there are as many versions of truth as there are people.  Some believe that whatever you “believe is the truth” is the truth. They believe that subjective truth is all there is.  While part of this idea is True, it is only a half-truth.

When you really think this idea through, it makes no sense and is logically inconsistent with itself. Think about it. If your belief is that all people create their own truth, then wouldn’t this statement itself be a statement explaining what is objectively True?  Wouldn’t the objective Truth be that everyone creates their own truth.  The statement itself reveals that you believe in objective Truth.  You are simply not acknowledging it as such.

It is certainly True that whatever we believe will influence our experience of reality, as I have explained in my previous posts. The lie is that there is only subjective truth.  In reality, both subjective truth (perspective) and objective Truth must exist.  Things are the way they are for a reason.  Even if you don’t know what that reason is, it does not mean that there is no reason for it at all.  There is something governing this universe.  Is it an old man in the clouds?  Is it quantum physics?  Is it mathematics?

Consider that what is actually governing everything are principles and axioms inherent in the fabric of life itself.  Remember that axiom means universal Truth and principle means first and most important things, and so what I am saying is True, simply as a matter of definition. I’m not telling you what these universal Truths are right now.  I am only telling you that Truth exists.

What makes science or religion produce any benefit in the lives of human beings is the degree to which it expresses True principles and axioms. On the other hand, it is the aspects of science and religion that are not True that cause the problems for people.  A synthesis between the two (science and religion) is in order. Both contain partial-truths and both contain partial-falsehoods. Truth is what will bring balance to humanity and it begins entirely with your own willingness to be at cause in this synthesis within yourself.

Right now I am not asking you to believe a specific Truth.  Instead, I ask you to simply consider that there are some thoughts and beliefs that are, at least, Truer than others.  If I were to look up at the blue sky and say that the sky is red. This is clearly not true.  If I corrected myself and said that the sky is blue right now, this would seem to be more true than the previous statement.  If I were to say that the sky only appears blue because of the way light is perceived by our eyes then this statement would be even truer.

The real question we should be asking is, “What are the Truer Truths I can access from wherever I am right now?”  Answering this question again and again brings us closer to the polarity of Truth.

The idea that life is some cosmic accident with no rhyme or reason is a lazy point of view.  Even if you believe there is an explanation for everything but it is impossible for us to know from our limited perspective as human beings, you are being intellectually lazy.  It is an arrogant position to take that you can’t know the Truth.

How do you know it is impossible to know the Truth?  Have you tried everything?  Have you turned over every possible stone? Have you studied all of mathematics, philosophy, science, religion, psychology, occult knowledge etc…? How do you know you will never discover the Truth? What a lazy and arrogant view to take when you haven’t even done all that is possible to understand! To believe this is foolish.  To spend time trying to convince others that it is impossible to know the Truth does harm to yourself and others as it slows down the evolution of humanity.  Let others seek higher degrees of Truth even if you are too emotionally and intellectually lazy to do the work required yourself.

Anytime we think we already know the absolute Truth in its entirety, we are being lazy and closed-minded.  The moment we think we know everything, we limit our desire to discover something new.  If you have misplaced the keys to your car and then you find them, you don’t continue to look for them. Why? Because you have already found them.  Conversely, when it comes to understanding ourselves and reality, this approach doesn’t work as well.

There is always more to discover about what is Truer.  This doesn’t mean we must be constantly confused but we must continually seek the attainment of higher understandings, and then continue to be open to higher understandings still.  This is how we can continue to evolve into greater versions of ourselves – by discovering and uncovering Truer Truths.

The more we are connected to the Truth, the more we unlock our natural powers and abilities.  We are then more aware of our ability to create and manifest what we choose. We know better who we are, what is possible and what ought to be done in each moment.  The more you know the Truth, the more you can create what you desire in your life.

Why is this so?

Because, once we know a Truer Truth, we can operate and function in harmony with it. Said another way, we can exist in the universe as beings who are grounded in True Reality. Again, this conversation is not about telling you everything that is True or not true, it is about beginning to grasp the potential we have when we are willing to open ourselves up to the possibility of higher Truths.

All conflict, internally and externally, begins with a disconnect from the Truth to varying degrees.  When we are disconnected from the Truth of Reality, we end up living out and experiencing a false reality. If you believe in scarcity, you will create it in your experience.  If you believe in fear, you will create it in your experience. Your life will always reflect what you believe consciously and unconsciously, so why not seek to have your beliefs be as congruent with Truth as possible?
